2 year old for sale

I'm now opening bids for one 2 1/2 year old.
He can climb bookcases
to throw the stuff off the top
He has silly faces
covered in green snot
He screams louder than a banshee
while hiding better than a turtle
He makes strong coffee
and eats crumbs off the floor.
He's not potty trained,
but will escape out the door.
Bids start at a dollar but I'll take much more.

DISCLAIMER:  This post is a meant to be funny -my son is not actually for sale - I just remember when my brother used to sing Shel Silverstein's poem about me and thought I could do the same about my son.  So knock it off all of you without a sense of humor!
For Sale

One sister for sale!
One sister for sale!
One crying and spying young sister for sale!
I’m really not kidding,
So who’ll start the bidding?
Do I hear the dollar?
A nickel?
A penny?
Oh, isn’t there, isn’t there, isn’t there any
One kid that will buy this old sister for sale,
This crying and spying young sister for sale?
~Shel Silverstein

  2. The running joke at our house is the offer of either of our kids to any takers--they come with toys. We had to start making these offers out of our six year old's hearing because he began to protest that he wanted to stay with us. So far we have had no offers but your post reminded me of our sometimes cavalier offer to unload our kids.

  3. I always loved the Shel Silverstein books when growing up. And wait a minute lady..if I haven't been able to sell my 6 year old yet, who has been on sale since 5 months old...then you're just gonna have to stand in line and wait your turn to sell your um, goods! And I almost have to find humor that you have to post on here that you're just kidding and that your kid isn't really for sale..oh the crap in this world! I say almost, since there are people out there that really do that...and also since lots of people can't seem to take a joke and would freak on you. Ya, I've had that happen to me when I JOKINGLY asked someone in a store if they wanted to buy my son..seriously..take a joke people!

  5. How funny! I once did a post called "Buy 2, Get 2 Free" when the kids were working my last nerve one day. I always threaten to auction them off on E-Bay.

  6. I read the post to the man and he said, I'll take him (because he makes strong coffee)...then I read the disclaimer and he said, damn it - I want strong coffee! LOL!

  7. I've had a couple of boys on the market before, too. I have to tell you that I never got an offer.
