In case you didn't count the number of characters in this blog (see right side) - we are a family of 5. A family of five can make a LOT of laundry. But a family of 5 that contains boys who play sports, like dirt, don't mind changing out of wet clothes into new dry ones 30 minutes before bath time, use multiple towels and must go through no less than 1 1/2 pairs of socks per day make a MOUNTAIN of laundry.
Don't believe me? On Sundays I wash no less than 8 loads of laundry. Typically it is 9 or 10. Add sheets and you've got 13 loads. I hate laundry. I'll put in the washer - Bradley will pass it to the dryer - no big deal.
But the FOLDING. I hate it. And the putting AWAY the laundry - well that's why I have kids right?
Still don't believe we have a mountain of laundry? Check out this picture. This is our clean laundry pile at the end of the day on Sundays before I sit down to fold it all (yes I procrastinate until the end).
I will admit there is a couch under there - somewhere. Play Where's Waldo - I mean Where's Couch and see if you can find it.
This house is protected by killer dust bunnies. ~Author Unknown
I'm over here laughing hysterically. Not AT you but WITH you. If I could take a picture of all the clean laundry piled up in 6 baskets waiting to be folded and put away, you'd know I was completely empathetic!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely HATE laundry too. If we had the extra money, I'd totally hire someone specifically to do all our laundry. I hate it that much.
I'm having a giveaway on my blog for a new lullably CD....if interested, I'd love for you to check it out!
I totally believe you! I grew up with 6 siblings, and I never had clean clothes!
ReplyDeleteFold the clothes is the worst part.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week.
I totally understand the mounds of laudry. I do a ton of it, too.
ReplyDeleteHa! Yes, we (family of two parents, three girls) knew that pile of laundry! Though, I was instantly aware that your pile has a lot more navy and gray, whereas ours was more pastel in palate. :)
ReplyDeleteI am seriously....feeling that pain....still. Doing. Laundry!
ReplyDeleteAwful I have this gift guide, can't get caught up at home and then give comment love. I fail....and the laundry grows like a large fungus. EWWWW
I hate laundry too! You're not alone. Thankful it is just three of us, but one little girl that does costume changes every 40 minutes makes a lot of laundry too! I grew up in a family of five, so I remember the pain well! LOL
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain as well. If I don't do at least one load a day (preferably 2), I get in a terrible predicament!!! As in, 2 mountains of laundry. We have 9 in our family. 4 messy boys (2 who do outfit changes when wet), 3 girly girls with costumes mixed in, a daddy who wears "work clothes" and "chillin' clothes" and me. I sometimes wear the same thing 2 days in a row just so I don't have to do THAT laundry too! :D
ReplyDeleteNow that my kids are old enough to help, it's not as bad. The oldest does her own, and the rest at least puts their own away. So I only have to do from start to finish with my husbands and my clothes. Makes it a little more manageable. Judging by the pic above...you're beeeezzzy!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya! The putting away part of the laundering process continues to elude me...and the members of my family. I blatantly use the folding part as an excuse to catch up on my DVR recordings, though, so that's not so bad.
ReplyDeleteHeaven help us all if either the washer or dryer suddenly went kaput!
totally believe you! I grew up with 6 siblings, and I never had clean clothes! Work From Home
ReplyDeleteOk I think I have found my calling. I LOVE LAUNDRY! Seriously. I would go to peoples houses to do their laundry for free. Folding, fluffing, fabric softener. I shiver in excitement thinking of laundry.
ReplyDeleteSo of course I live in an apartment where I have to haul my clothes across town to my moms to use her washer and dryer. So not fair.
I will work on a machine that folds clothes! OH MY LORD!
ReplyDeleteI feel for ya, I have a mountain of laundry here at all times as well. With 5 kids, the dirty stuff piles up faster then I can take it down. Why 7 people create the dirty clothes but only 1 (me) is cleaning, folding and putting away is beyond me. Of course my 2 year old hates to wear clothing, so in a way I guess he's helping by running around naked all day.
ReplyDeleteLMBO!!! do you have my life? I also have 3 boys and a husband all who do sports. So i feel your pain. I procrastinate on folding socks. I just don't do it. Its my middle sons job to fold socks!
ReplyDelete(SITS)
oh my thats alot of laundry, hope it doesnt eat u alive!lol
ReplyDeletei now wash all the laundry on one day and fold it all the next morning while i watch my dvr. i still don't enjoy it but it makes it more bearable
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you guys were able to laugh with me! Thankful that I don't have to climb this mountain alone - that all over there are other women climbing their own mountains.
ReplyDeleteAnd when the clothes folding machine is invented I'll be hosting the first giveaway here!
